Depending on your Nepris account, you may have the opportunity to explore in-person volunteer opportunities. Here is how to get started:
Find In-Person Sessions
We'll email you when we find an educator looking for someone with your skill set. Once you're logged in, you can also click on "Recommended In-Person Sessions" and/or "Browse In-Person Volunteer Opportunities" under the Session menu to see what's available. Note that if these options aren't listed, virtual sessions are the way to go.
Pro Tip: If there are multiple in-person sessions to choose from, you can narrow down the list just like for virtual sessions.
Sign Up for an In-Person Session
When you see an opportunity you'd like to participate in, click on the "Show Interest" button to let us know. We'll follow up with an email outlining next steps.
Schedule Your Own In-Person Session
There are instances where scheduling your own in-person interaction with students is possible. Feel free to use the orange "Need help? Let's Chat" button on the bottom left of your screen to see if this could work based on your location, etc. Note that this is your chance to set the parameters for your session - what you share, when and where it happens, and the types of students you target for your audience (elementary, adult education, etc.).
To set this up, click on "Offer In-Person Events/Services/Opportunities" under the Session menu at the top of the Dashboard page:
Fill out the form that pops up so we have some information to share with teachers:
- 30-60 minutes typically works best (including a 10-15 minute Q&A)
- Catchy titles help generate excitement from teachers
- The "?" next to each question provides tips on entering your information:
- You can save at any time if you need to gather more information before submitting
- More tips and examples are available here
That's it! Once you submit, you'll receive a confirmation email and next steps for meeting with the learners. Happy connecting!
