Here are some ideas to help you have a great classroom connection:

|Make it a Conversation: Talk ‘with’ students not ‘at’ them.
Ask Questions: “What do you think of ___?” or “How many of you ___?”
Turn & Talk: “Turn to someone near you and spend a minute discussing ___.”
Show Visuals: Use props, slides, photos, or video to engage learners.
Keep it Short: Especially for younger students, brevity is best!
Provide Context & Examples: Share background information, your experiences, scenarios, etc.
Connect Learning to the Real World: Highlight how classroom learning ties into careers.
Speak on Students’ Level: Whenever possible, simplify your language and avoid abbreviations.
Check Your Tech: Follow these steps before your session and remember to speak close to your mic during the actual video chat with students.
Consider Your Environment: Think about lighting, background noise, and what students will see behind you.
Start Off Right: Begin the session by confirming students’ age range, class, etc. to make sure you speak on their level.
Stay Focused: Stay on topic, chunk information, and pause for understanding.
Share Selectively: Avoid sharing anything that's overtly sales-oriented and if necessary, make sure you get your HR department's permission to share content with students. Plus, since sessions are typically recorded for other schools to use, content from the internet should be in public domain.
Steer Away from Some Topics: Unless the session is specifically about religion or politics, it's generally best to avoid them.
End with a Message: Your final words can leave a big impression!
