Post Your Volunteerism on Social Media

Here are 5 ways to post your volunteerism (including LinkedIn!):

1. Post about an Upcoming Industry Chat

Let others know about your upcoming Industry Chat so they or their children/students can tune in too!

Below is a sample post, be sure to add the link to your session so they can easily sign up to join. Feel free to add hashtags too! (e.g. #STEM, #careers, etc.)

"On [date], I'll be leading a virtual session all about [topic] for [audience age]! Learn more and sign up via @pathfulinc: [session URL]"

2. Post About a Recent Session

"I recently connected with students via @pathfulinc to provide career exposure and industry insights - virtually!"

3. Add Your Volunteerism to Your Resume

Here's a template you can copy/paste/edit to meet your needs:

• "Lead virtual sessions with students across the U.S. to provide career exposure and bring real-world relevance to classroom learning."

4. Add Your Volunteerism to Your LinkedIn Profile

Here is how to add your virtual volunteerism to your profile (feel free to use the text for another social media site too!):

Step 1. Go to your LinkedIn profile.

Step 2. Click on Add profile section to the right of your profile picture and select Volunteer Experience from the Additional dropdown menu:

Step 3. Fill out the form that pops up:

To make it super easy, we've crafted a short description that you are welcome to copy/paste: 

"I use Pathful's skills-based volunteering platform to virtually introduce learners to new industries and career pathways, extend my organization's educational outreach, and bridge the gap between education and industry."

5. Post that you enjoy volunteering!
