2. Do Some Research.
a. Take a moment to search through previous Industry Chats and Teacher Requested Sessions related to the topic you would like to cover in our Video Library.
b. Gather plenty of information and use the information to present it in a unique way or add something different.
c. Take note of what there is a lack of information on and decide if it's something you would like to highlight in your presentation.
d. Also, take note of what you liked and didn't like about the presentations you reviewed in the process, what grade levels you found are most interactive and interested in your career path, and what time of day your favorite presentations occurred.
Use this information to help you make an informed decision on what you would like to specifically focus on during your presentation. This will help you stay unique, relevant and will keep you in alignment with best practices for an attractive and interesting Industry Chat.
3. Take a Look at Your Calendar and Plan Ahead.
a. Find the time of the year to increase exposer for your topic by looking up the national day or week your topic is celebrated or to increase awareness.
b. Use that approximate date or week to connect with students and teachers through your Industry Chat. You can also request for it to be included in our Nepris National Day Series.
c. Offer to present and schedule your Industry Chat as soon as you can!
Data suggest the sooner you schedule your industry chat, the higher the chances you will increase chat attendance. Scheduling an industry chat at least 6-8 weeks in advance is vital, and is directly connected to enhancing reach and gaining momentum for your Industry Chat. This, in conjunction with finding when your topic is most discussed or celebrated, will significantly increase the chances of having a fantastic turnout for your Industry Chat.
